Why is the Family Reunification Course Important?

Recent comprehensive reforms in Germany's residency laws require foreign nationals who wish to join their spouse in Germany to prove their basic knowledge of the German language when applying for a visa. The goal of this regulation is to ensure that individuals coming to Germany can, at the very least, communicate in basic German and participate in social life. The individual moving to join their spouse in Germany must demonstrate, during the visa application process, that they can communicate at a basic level in German. The level of proficiency required is A1, as defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), developed by the Council of Europe. During the visa application process, proof of German language skills must be provided with the A1 "Start Deutsch 1" (Basic German) Certificate issued by our language school, Just English. Since the goal is to make daily life in Germany easier, the exam primarily assesses communication skills. Just English prepares you not only for the exam but also equips you with the German knowledge you need for daily life in Germany. Presenting a German certificate does not automatically prove sufficient language skills for the visa application. The final decision regarding the visa will still be made by the "Visa Section." In cases of doubt, the authenticity of the certificate and whether the applicant's German knowledge is reasonable and up to date may be re-evaluated. Therefore, regular class attendance and completing assignments are crucial.
